Quiz Night

Have you got your tickets for the St Andrews Quiz Night on 9th October, Over Hulton Conservative Club? Arrive approx. 7pm for a prompt start at 7.30pm. The cost is £5 which will include a supper. You can get your tickets from Ann & Mike Jeffries, Christine Grime and Julia Taylor.

Harvest

Harvest will be on Sunday 4th October when we thank God for his bounty, and when gifts of non-perishable food will be thankfully received for those less fortunate than ourselves. As usual these will be sent to Urban Outreach in Bolton.

Memorial Service at St Marys

Deane Church at 4pm on Sunday 25th October. The Local churches will be holding a joint Memorial Service for those who have died in the last few years. We welcome all who wish to come and to remember relatives and friends. If there is anyone who particularly wish to remember please let Julia Davies know so they we can make sure their name is included in the service. It is a simple service where names are read out and a candle is lit and we remember those we have loved and miss. The service will be taken by Elizabeth Plant and Julia Davies.

Donations

We have received a donation of £100 one from the Friday Toddler Group, these will go into our General Account which goes towards the expenses of running St andrews, parish share, heating and lighting, etc. A big thank you to the Friday Toddler Group.

LIGHT Party

On Saturday 31st October St Andrews Church will be hosting a LIGHT Party, for all ages. This will be taking place on Saturday 31st October. There will be food, music and games to keep all the family entertained.

Donations

Many thanks to the Friday Toddler Group for their donation, and to Rummikub group for their recent donation of £100 which will go towards the upkeep of the church.

Lincoln Christmas Market

Booking is now open for the day trip to Lincoln Christmas Marketing, hosted by Deane Ladies Guild, on Saturday 5th December.

 

It is open to all members of the wider church family, ladies and gentlemen, young and old.

 

A coach will leave Deane Church at 8am, picking up on the A6 by the Red Lion. Grayways report that the journey takes 3 hours 30 minutes including a comfort stop.

 

There will be a toilet on the coach. We will be dropped off and picked up near the market. We leave Lincoln at 5pm. The cost is £25 per person. We suggest you bring a packed lunch.

 

If you wish to join this trip please put £25 per person into a sealed envelope with your name/s clearly written on the outside and labelled Lincoln Christmas Market. If you wish to be picked up near St Andrews you must indicate this on the envelope. Any cheques should be made payable to Deane Church Ladies Guild.

 

You can hand in your envelopes to Pat Braddock at St Andrews Church or Josie Crompton at Deane Church. Please book at once if you wish to come aas we need to know how many are participating. We look forward to a great day out together!

General Election

St Andrews Church (Fellowship Room) is being used as a Polling Station on Thursday 7th May, however the Thursday morning service will take place as usual.

Archdeacons Visitation

The Archdeacons Visitation will be at St Bartholomew’s Church, Church Street, Westhoughton on Tuesday 12th May at 7.30pm.

This service is for the Churchwardens, members of the PCC and sides persons to be presented to the Archdeacon and take place every year after the Annual Parochial Meeting.
